Introduction
The "Learn to meditate" mini-series at sangha.org helps you to manage stress that accumulates throughout the day by guiding you through a practice to work with your breath, body, feelings and mind.
How it works
The series has been organized into 5 sets of instructions which correspond to each step in the meditation guide. As you progress through the series, a link just below the numbered steps points to context pertinent documentation. The documentation gives depth to the on-screen instruction.
Your best approach
While learning, it's best to follow these steps in the order provided and practice for just a few minutes consistently each day. Once you're familiar with the basic steps, you can extend the time spent on each step as desired. With additional guidance, such as by working with a teacher, you could establish a formal sitting practice.
The inspiration for this guide
"Learn to meditate" is adapted from the Buddha's instruction as written in the Anapanasati Sutta thousands of years ago. Though this modified, condensed form offers only a tiny taste of a full meditation experience, its availability via any web-connected device makes it a perfect supplement for lunch or break times or at home.
